Nashville, TN – An accused murderer was arrested Tuesday night in Nashville following a dramatic vehicle takedown on Dickerson Pike, bringing a months-long homicide investigation to a close.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Specialized Investigations Division detectives apprehended 25-year-old Derek Michael Randolph after executing a tactical stop of the stolen Kia Forte he was allegedly driving. Authorities reported that a pistol, fentanyl, crack cocaine and marijuana were recovered inside the vehicle.
The arrest follows an investigation led by Homicide Unit Detective David Boone, who identified Randolph as the alleged gunman in a fatal shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of April 19 at Honeysuckle Market, 167 Lafayette Street. The incident reportedly took place as a Jeep Cherokee was pulling away from gas pumps, with Randolph allegedly opening fire on the vehicle.
