Fort Negley showcases Nashville’s Civil War history while shaping the neighborhood’s future

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A centerpiece of the Civil War is hidden atop a hill in the Wedgewood-Houston area of Nashville.

Fort Negley was extremely important as Union troops worked to control rivers, roads and trains after claiming the Confederate city just months into the war.
