‘Their lives matter’: Mother of Waffle House shooting victim speaks out as convicted killer seeks new trial

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The man convicted of killing four people — including the son of state Rep. Shaundelle Brooks (D-Hermitage) — in the Antioch Waffle House shooting seven years ago is asking for a new trial.

Brooks’ sons, Abede and Akilah Dasilva, were both at the Waffle House during the 2018 mass shooting, but only Abede survived.
