Waffle House shooter Travis Reinking seeks new trial; hearing begins on his mental state

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Antioch Waffle House shooter wants a do-over with his murder trial.

A hearing for Travis Reinking started Monday morning in Nashville, Tennessee.

Reinking’s attorneys want to convince a judge that his previous legal team failed him by not showing he was insane when he killed four people — 29-year-old Taurean Sanderlin, 20-year-old Joey Perez, 23-year-old Akilah Dasilva, and 21-year-old DeEbony Grove — on April 22, 2018.
