A brief nap in the parking lot of the Sumner County Jail led to a somewhat longer stay for a Hendersonville woman.
According to an arrest report, deputies were called to the jail’s parking lot in Gallatin on Thursday, July 31, 2025, in response to reports of a woman sleeping in a Honda Odyssey minivan. Deputies identified the woman as Amiya Moody, 20, of Hendersonville, and learned that she had a felony warrant for reportedly violating probation on a drug charge.
The driver of the vehicle, a male whose name was not released, reportedly told police that Moody had woken up, realized where she was, exited the vehicle and began running towards East Winchester Street.
