NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – New FBI data shows violent crime across Tennessee has dropped over the past five years, but this weekend told a different story in Nashville, where police responded to three separate shootings in just two days, including one that killed a man.
The Metro Nashville Police Department said gunfire erupted after an argument in the parking lot of the MAPCO gas station in the 1300 block of Neelys Bend Road shortly before 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9. The victim, identified as 25-year-old Chris Bond II, died at TriStar Skyline Medical Center.
Investigators said the suspect left the scene in his vehicle after the shooting. Officers later arrested 36-year-old Timothy Lamar Williams at an apartment complex on Cheyenne Boulevard. He is now facing a felony criminal homicide charge in connection with the case.
