August 7, 2025 – North Precinct officers late Wednesday night arrested David Beranek, 28, on a charge of domestic-related attempted criminal homicide for the severe beating of his 64-year-old father Wednesday afternoon inside their 5616 Clarksville Pike home in Joelton. The victim suffered lacerations to the top of his head and wounds to both of his arms. First responders found him with blood on his face neck and arms. He was transported to Skyline Medical Center for treatment. He has been released from the hospital.
The investigation revealed that during the domestic dispute between the two, Beranek disarmed his father of the pistol he was carrying. The magazine fell from the gun during the struggle, after which the father ran away for help.
North Precinct officers, with the assistance of SWAT officers, set up a perimeter around the home late Wednesday afternoon in an attempt to arrest Beranek on the outstanding warrant. Traffic on a small part of Clarksville Pike between Cantarutti Road and Bianco Road was temporarily diverted for public safety as officers worked to determine whether Beranek was still in the home or had fled prior to the initial police response.
