MNPD: Deadly shooting of 6-year-old under investigation

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Last week’s deadly shooting of a 6-year-old is under investigation, the Metro Nashville Police Department announced Monday.

According to police, the parents of Cyprien Argueta Romero told authorities that they were doing yard work in Paragon Mills and he was playing with his brother when they learned that he was injured. They took him to Southern Hills Medical Center late Friday afternoon.

The MNPD said in a press release that “the parents have been reticent to go into significant detail” about the incident, adding that conflicting information was learned over the weekend that indicated the shooting may not have taken place in Davidson County.

Police said they have not identified the exact location of the shooting, but detectives with the MNPD’s Youth Services division have been “taking a number of investigative steps to flesh out what exactly occurred” with assistance from the Homicide Unit…
