Newest graduating class of Tennessee State Troopers brings 74 years of law enforcement experience to THP

Chattanooga, TN – The Department of Safety and Homeland Security Commissioner Jeff Long and Tennessee Highway Patrol Colonel Matt Perry recognized the newest graduating class of Tennessee State Troopers during a ceremony at the Tennessee State Library and Archives in Nashville. The ceremony marked the completion of training for Lateral Trooper Cadet Class 825, which graduated after 11 weeks of instruction.

Commissioner Long served as the keynote speaker and administered the oath of office to the cadets. He noted that all 14 members of the class who began training in June graduated together, crediting their ability to persevere and support each other through the demanding program. He congratulated the cadets for earning the right to serve as Tennessee State Troopers.

The class was made up entirely of previously certified law enforcement officers under the Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission. Collectively, the 14 graduates brought 74 years of law enforcement experience to the Tennessee Highway Patrol from agencies across the state…
