NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Dozens of people are starting over after a massive fire tore through a Bellevue apartment complex Saturday.
The fire at Slate Apartment Homes in the 7400 block of Highway 70 South was reported shortly before 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16. District Chief Aaron Sparkman with the Nashville Fire Department said the blaze started in a first-floor unit and quickly spread, destroying at least a dozen units.
Diane Mensah and her two sons are among the displaced. Mensah said she was at work when she got a frightening call around 11 a.m. from one of her sons, who told her the apartment was on fire.
