New grocery store hopes to help fill food gap in Salemtown

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – With the Kroger on Rosa Parks Boulevard currently closed for renovations, Salemtown residents have no full-service grocery store nearby. But a smaller market aims to help change that by adding more options.

Basket Case, a grocery store and cafe, is opening this fall — and owner Gabby Raven hopes it brings much-needed food access to the neighborhood.
