Police Officer Left Unconscious After Violent Fight With Nashville Bouncer

Working security in downtown Nashville is no joke. In recent years, it’s become increasingly common to see instances of bouncers crossing the line. When it comes to balancing keeping people safe with being overly protective, security is riding a fine line. It all started when four Nashville Police Department Officers wanted to enjoy some time at Losers Bar and Grill. Off duty for the night, the group set out at around 9 pm. Their night was unfortunately cut short when Losers’ security turned them away. It could have ended there, but an altercation occurred after one officer was confronted a second time by a bouncer. The pair ended up resorting to physical violence outside of Velvet Taco, a restaurant across from Losers. Within a few minutes, one of the officers in the group was hit in the head and knocked unconscious.

According to WKRN, the officer was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center. Luckily, later that afternoon, he was released with no serious injuries or problems. Still, by that point, videos of the fight had already started to make their way around social media.

Although no one has been charged as of now, many suspect that somebody will be held responsible for the altercation. If you’re in Nashville, it’s an unspoken rule not to mess with the bouncers at your favorite bar. Consequences are almost always in order, and it’s not worth the risk of being permanently banned from an establishment.

Like I said, this certainly wouldn’t be the first time that interacting with a Nashville bouncer has gotten someone in deep waters. Just last year, Austin Turner, a 25-year-old from Hendersonville, Tennessee, tried to re-enter a bar downtown after leaving his phone in the establishment. This resulted in him being denied by a security officer at the bar, Richard Cornelius. The interaction got so physically intense that Turner ended up with severe brain injuries that put him in a coma at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Unfortunately, this coma didn’t last too long, as Turner tragically passed away three weeks later…
