NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A historic North Nashville ballpark is reopening after some renovations.
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville CEO Danny Herron made a deal with Metro for 12 acres of land that had been appraised for $1.2 million. The organization paid for half the land to build affordable homes. On the other half, they would both help develop a Metro park and collaborate to renovate the ballfields at Parkwood for the benefit of the community.
The Morgan Wallen Foundation, Major League Baseball, the Major League Baseball Players’ Association through the Youth Development Foundation and the Speer Foundation donated $500,000 each to support the effort.
