Woman accused of leading police on pursuit after shoplifting incident in Mt. Juliet

MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities arrested a Memphis woman in Nashville on Friday after she allegedly led officers on a pursuit from a shoplifting incident in Mt. Juliet.

The Mt. Juliet Police Department said the suspect — a 39-year-old woman — got in a car and fled from Kroger after she was accused of shoplifting. She reportedly sideswiped another vehicle as she drove away, and evaded officers on Golden Bear Gateway.

MJPD issued a pursuit alert at 2:40 p.m. Friday in relation to the incident. Ten minutes later, the alert was canceled.

Detectives with the Metro Nashville Police Department and MJPD tracked the car to a hotel in Nashville using license plate readers and surveillance cameras, and the woman was arrested Friday evening.
