Suspect charged after gun sale leads to robbery in La Vergne, police say

LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WKRN) — What started as a meetup to sell a gun led to an arrest Thursday night in La Vergne.

The La Vergne Police Department said officers were sent to the 5000 block of Murfreesboro Road just before midnight on Thursday, Aug. 28, to respond to an armed robbery.

When officers arrived, they reportedly detained multiple individuals and an investigation revealed that the incident involved the attempted sale of a firearm.

At some point, the suspect allegedly pulled out a handgun and attempted to take the firearm. Officers said they quickly secured the scene, recovered both firearms, and took the suspect into custody…
