First responders fight fire at Antioch home

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Crews ended up fighting a house fire after responding to a report of an explosion in Antioch Sunday afternoon.

According to Metro Nashville dispatch, an explosion was called in around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31 from 5400 block of Reagan Run, so more than 20 Nashville Fire Department units were assigned to the call over the next few minutes.

Multiple injuries reported among first responders following large-scale structure fire in Decatur County

An assistant chief from NFD told News 2 that personnel arrived at the scene and discovered heavy smoke coming from the attic space of the house.

The assistant chief said EMS had to take one firefighter off the scene due to heat exhaustion, but that first responder is alright now. No injuries were reported among civilians.

The cause of Sunday’s fire is under investigation.
