Vanderbilt QB’s brothers arrested during opening game, one charged with assaulting officer

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Javier and Roel Pavia, the brothers of Vanderbilt University quarterback Diego Pavia, were both arrested Saturday night, authorities confirm.

Javier Ramiro Pavia was intoxicated and disruptive, throwing food at patrons and refusing to leave the stadium despite multiple warnings from law enforcement, according to Vanderbilt University Police Department (VUPD). VUPD adds that when officers attempted to arrest him, he resisted, leading to a struggle.

Police say Javier’s brother, Roel Enrique Pavia, then intervened by pushing an officer to delay the arrest. He then fled the scene but was later apprehended by additional officers, the arrest record states…
