Convicted Felon Arrested After Attempted Carjacking and Crash Leads to Drug and Firearm Discovery in Nashville

A bizarre instance unfolded recently when officers from the MNPD Central Precinct were called to a scene of a single-car accident. The vehicle, found abandoned around 7:20 p.m., sparked a search revealing evidence of drug-related activities. In a social media post, the precinct detailed that officers, having arrived at the location, “began the procedures for inventorying and processing the abandoned vehicle for removal from the property.”

The subsequent investigation quickly turned up multiple items indicative of narcotics activities. In an unexpected turn of events within the next 20 minutes, a male was reportedly trying to forcibly enter civilian cars while unclothed on Ewing Street. Officers were alerted and quickly worked to detain the man, who, through hurried confessions, revealed himself to be the driver of the previously discovered crashed vehicle.

Further investigation into the car uncovered more than 63 grams of marijuana, over 26 grams of cocaine, two pistols, and various items of drug paraphernalia.
