History made: Nashville Public Schools achieve fourth consecutive year of top growth

Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) has once again been recognized as a Level 5 TVAAS Growth district, the highest possible rating. This marks the fourth consecutive year the district has earned this designation (the first time in its history), underscoring sustained, historic academic progress for students across the city.

“This incredible achievement is the result of the hard work and dedication of our teachers, staff, students, and families, and the strong support of our Board of Education,” said Dr. Adrienne Battle, director of schools. “For four years running, our district has earned the highest growth rating in Tennessee, proving that when we work together with focus and commitment, our students thrive.”

The Tennessee Value-Added Assessment System (TVAAS) measures student progress year over year, rather than only whether they meet proficiency standards. A Level 5 score (the highest possible) indicates that MNPS students are making more than a year’s worth of expected growth compared to their peers statewide…
