NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Nashville’s mayor responded to Representative Andy Ogles’ calls for the National Guard to come to the city to combat crime, despite police statistics showing a decline.
Mayor Freddie O’Connell responded to the call during his weekly roundtable Friday morning, saying in part that Rep. Ogles’ priorities should be elsewhere.
“I understand that this is a congressman who is himself under investigation and seems to be showing off for the president so he can get a pardon,” Mayor O’Connell says. “This is somebody who is involved in a political race of his own, but seems more invested in a city he neither has an office in or lives in. It is absurd hearing his claims about crime stats…”…
