NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man was taken into custody for multiple charges related to a fight in East Nashville earlier this month that escalated and left two people injured, including his teenage daughter.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, officers responded to a reported shooting at the intersection of South 6th Street and Sylvan Street around 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 1.

The investigation, led by the Non-Lethal Shooting Unit, revealed 45-year-old Bert Watkins was fighting with a 29-year-old man, officials said. Watkins’ 16-year-old daughter reportedly told detectives that her father pulled out a gun during the altercation, she heard a shot shortly afterward, and she realized she had been struck in the hand.
Authorities said the 29-year-old showed up at Vanderbilt University Medical Center with a head injury, claiming Watkins had pistol whipped him during the fight…
