Metro Social Services hosting pop-up events in food deserts

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Food insecurity is a nationwide issue, and it’s escalated over the last few years here in Nashville.

Metro leaders are working to fight against it, targeting the biggest problem areas first.

Metro Social Services said they’ve been seeing an increase in people reaching out to them for food, specifically in the 37208 ZIP code—North Nashville.
