Metro ethics board makes decision on misconduct allegations against Councilwoman Joy Kimbrough

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Some ethics concerns over alleged conduct of a Metro Councilwoman will move to a hearing.

Metro District 1 Councilwoman Joy Kimbrough is accused of trying to use her position for personal gain over a proposed rezoning.

The drama stems from land that would have to be rezoned for Best Brands—a Nashville liquor distribution company—to build a warehouse on Ashland City Highway and Briley Parkway.

The company reportedly promised to hire employees from Bordeaux, and for five years give $150,000 to nonprofits in the area. However, according to the formal complaint filed by Best Brands CEO Ryan Moses, Kimbrough said that wasn’t enough and asked for $500,000 to be paid upfront in order to gain her support…
