In a statement released via the Berry Hill Police Department’s social media platform, law enforcement officers encountered a suspected shoplifting incident on the grounds of a local Walgreens. Reportedly, two females were observed exiting the store hastily, carrying merchandise that was not enclosed in the retailer’s bags — a common indicator of theft. According to the Berry Hill Police Department, officers promptly followed the suspect vehicle within the parking lot and switched on their emergency alert system in an effort to make an apprehension.
Despite police efforts, the vehicle driven by the suspects managed to maneuver in reverse, nearly making contact with a patrol car, and successfully evaded on-site capture. The officers were decisive in gathering information, though, securing the license plate details and a description of the driver, which led to the identification of Laquita Goodner, who is known for a history of similar offenses.
