First responders recover truck from Cumberland River

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Nashville authorities have launched an investigation after a vehicle reportedly went into the Cumberland River Friday evening.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said its divers teamed up with personnel from the Nashville Fire Department and the Office of Emergency Management on Saturday, Sept. 20 to recover a pickup truck from the river.

According to officials, witnesses saw the vehicle go into the Cumberland River off Cowan Street on Friday, Sept. 19.

One person was reportedly seen swimming to shore Friday night. However, nobody was found inside on Saturday, law enforcement said.
