Vanderbilt has a game against Georgia State on Saturday night, but it has been postponed by lightning in the area, the program announced. It will be delayed until the lightning clears the area.
An advisory was provided the fans. The goal was to ensure everyone’s safety during the delay.
“Lightning has been detected within 8 miles,” the alert read. “Per SEC protocols, the game is suspended until the threat has passed. Please proceed to a shelter location, return to your vehicle, or head to your campus residence if applicable. Reentry will be permitted once the event resumes.”
