City of La Vergne Fire Rescue Department
A Tennessee business had been under investigation for several months for alleged illegal distribution of marijuana when a fire last week suddenly exposed evidence for potential prosecution, officials said.
Shortly after 9 p.m. on Sept. 15, the City of La Vergne Fire Rescue Department responded to a report of “visible smoke” at the Tobacco Brew and Chew on Murfreesboro Road. Firefighters arrived to find “heavy smoke” emanating from the front of the store, and brought the fire under control within 10 minutes.
The fire department said one individual evacuated the store and “several” people evacuated an adjacent Little Caesars restaurant before firefighters arrived at the scene. No injuries were reported…
