Now-former Hendersonville Fire Department Division Chief Jamie Cossler faces an aggravated assault charge following an incident relating to ongoing “class wars” in the early morning hours of Sept. 22.
According to an arrest affidavit, officers were told that a 16-year-old girl had been assaulted, placed in a chokehold and struck in the face by Cossler near his Gallatin home. The incident allegedly occurred as a group of juveniles were participating in “Junior/Senior Class Wars” and were pranking Cossler’s home by putting flour in the driveway.
Officers later found out about videos taken of the assault, captured by other juveniles. The arrest affidavit states that videos show the altercation took place near mailboxes approximately 80 yards away from Cossler’s property. Videos reportedly show Cossler holding the juvenile in a “chokehold-like manner and throwing her body around yelling at the group of juveniles,” before hitting the juvenile in the face while holding her by the neck…
