NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — As the Tennessee College of Applied Technology expands its programs to high schools across Middle Tennessee, it announced Thursday a new program through Metro Nashville Public Schools meant to help them get ahead debt free.
“We’re delivering hands-on training in the high schools that will give them a streamline pathway to TCAT Nashville at a tuition-free pathway, so this is a great opportunity for students to gain those hands-on skills in high-demand career fields and then gain access once they graduate high school directly to TCAT Nashville,” TCAT Nashville President Nathan Garrett said. “And the best part of this story is they will graduate TCAT Nashville with a job absolutely debt free.”
The goal is for students to take as many dual enrollment classes as possible in high school. Then, they’ll have priority acceptance into TCAT once they graduate to finish the remainder of the credits they need. There are even certain programs that will allow them to complete high school and college on the same day…
