Two Teens Detained After Early-Morning Pursuit Ends in Nashville

Around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Deputy Chief Brent Hatcher and K-9 Officer James Cunningham observed a vehicle performing donuts in an intersection on Heil Quaker. When the officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the driver fled the scene.

The officers pursued the vehicle down Heil Quarters, which ultimately dead-ended within Metro Nashville jurisdiction. The vehicle had crashed into rough terrain and came to rest approximately 120 yards from the roadway.

Deputy Chief Hatcher and Officer Cunningham approached the vehicle and discovered that, while still running, the vehicle was disabled and unoccupied. Concerned for the individuals who had been inside, the officers began searching the surrounding area while coordinating with the Metro Nashville Police Department…
