On a recent Tuesday evening, detectives from the TITANS Unit were surveilling an area on Dickerson Pike when they noticed a man inside a Kia K5 engaging in behavior consistent with drug deals. The situation escalated as the Kia fled from a traffic stop on Avondale Circle, resulting in a crash into a utility pole, according to a Nashville government press release.
Brandon Taylor, a 39-year-old convicted felon, attempted to evade arrest on foot after the crash but was apprehended shortly thereafter. Detectives conducting the subsequent search of the vehicle discovered cocaine, marijuana, and a sum of cash. A stolen handgun, reportedly taken during a vehicle burglary back in July on 2nd Avenue South, was also found during his arrest. Taylor’s rap sheet extended to include outstanding warrants for the theft of another firearm, which belonged to his girlfriend, and charges connected to a vehicular incident in December.
Taylor now faces a slew of charges: being a felon in possession of a weapon, weapon possession, felony and misdemeanor evading arrest, and drug possession. The press release by the Nashville government detailed his current incarceration, where he remains under a $61,500 bond…
