17-year-old killed in shooting at Bellevue apartment complex

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Metro detectives are working to identify the individuals responsible for the gunfire that killed a 17-year-old Saturday night in Bellevue.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said the shooting was reported at approximately 10:20 p.m. Saturday outside of the Forest Park apartment complex on Highway 70 South. Witnesses reportedly claimed gunfire broke out after a physical fight between two women, and the shooters fled.

According to authorities, 17-year-old Ja’Quan Nolan was visiting friends at the complex when he was injured in the gunfire, and later died at the scene.

A 24-year-old man was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with a graze wound to the chest. Metro police said he was interviewed by homicide detectives and denied having involvement in the gunfire, however, he was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant…
