NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Gov. Bill Lee has warned that Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) customers in Tennessee should expect a lapse in benefits on their cards beginning November.
The SNAP program, which is federally funded and operated, cannot be supplemented with state dollars, as states lack the means to load benefits onto customer cards. The potential lapse is benefits starts Nov. 1.
