Nashville Residents Urged to Secure Firearms as Most Stolen Guns Taken from Vehicles in 2025

In Nashville, most guns reported stolen in 2025 have been taken from vehicles. The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) recommends that residents lock their cars and secure firearms to reduce theft.

By late October 2025, 836 guns were stolen from vehicles in Nashville. This is out of a total of 1,081 guns stolen in Davidson County. Vehicle-related gun thefts account for 77% of cases this year, up from 750 at the same time last year.
