Memorial tree to be planted in honor of woman killed in Nashville crosswalk

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Historic Germantown Neighborhood is set to plant a memorial tree in honor of a woman who was killed in a Nashville crosswalk.

The tree-planting to memorialize Dorothy “Dot” Dobbins is set for Saturday, November 8, at Morgan Park near the 3rd Avenue crosswalk to the greenway.

Dobbins was hit and killed by country music singer Conner Smith on June 8. She was 77. Smith, 24, was driving the car that crashed into Dobbins as she passed through a crosswalk in Nashville’s Germantown neighborhood…
