NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Members of the Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church have been coming together to put together meals for the community weekly and they want city and state leaders to follow their example.
It’s something they’ve done every Wednesday, but the need is growing. Soon, they’ll be filling a void left behind by the loss of SNAP benefits of those affected by the ongoing federal government shutdown.

The Rev. Enoch Fuzz said it’s time for the church to step up, but the burden on nonprofits is unsustainable. He’s also calling on state and city leaders to continue to join in on the fight against hunger, telling News 2 it’ll take everyone to meet the need.
He said he’s proud of his church for being so committed to making meals and feeding the hungry. The church plans to continue to do this until the government reopens and SNAP benefits are fully funded again.
