MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — A member of the Mt. Juliet Police Department was fired after being arrested for domestic assault in Sumner County earlier this week.
Mt. Juliet Chief of Police Tyler Chandler told News 2 the department was notified on Sunday, Oct. 26 that one of its officers, 25-year-old Kurt Scothern, was involved in a domestic-related incident at his home while off-duty. Scothern was immediately decommissioned, removing all police authority, and put on unpaid administrative leave.

Chandler said the Gallatin Police Department investigated the incident. News 2 has requested the affidavit detailing the circumstances surrounding Scothern’s arrest.
