Police investigating ‘targeted murder’ of man at MetroCenter apartment complex

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — An investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed early Sunday morning during an apparent ambush in Nashville’s MetroCenter area, officials said.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, this “targeted murder” occurred at Parc at Metro Center Apartments along Athens Way. A resident reportedly found the victim — identified as 26-year-old Jackailus Groves — on an apartment’s rear patio, behind the bushes, around 7:15 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2.

Authorities said the investigation shows Groves had been been at LinQ nightclub on Lafayette Street before he arrived at the apartment complex, where his girlfriend lives, just after 3:15 a.m.
