One year after Nashville voters approved the ‘Choose How You Move’ transportation improvement program, Mayor Freddie O’Connell joined residents and city leaders to celebrate a year of progress, from planning to tangible results.
At a ribbon-cutting event on Murfreesboro Pike, O’Connell unveiled the city’s first queue jump lane for buses and announced the launch of the ‘Journey Pass,’ Nashville’s first income-based free fare program for public transit.
“A year ago, our traffic was worsening and our infrastructure was falling behind,” O’Connell said. “Now we have a plan for generational change—one that listened to more than 66,000 pieces of feedback from Nashvillians. We’ve moved from referendum to ribbon cuttings, putting our dollars to work to improve lives and reduce household transportation costs.”…
