LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A nonprofit identified a woman whose body was found 18 years ago in La Vergne, Tennessee.
The DNA Doe Project, a nonprofit specializing in identifying victims and returning them to their families and community, identified the woman as 40-year-old Mary Alice Maloney, who was originally from Connecticut and had been living in the Nashville area before she disappeared.
A police officer discovered Maloney’s body on Nov. 14, 2007, in a wooded area in La Vergne. Investigators found jewelry but no clothing, and they estimated she died in the spring or summer of 2007…
