Johnny Cash estate files lawsuit against Coca-Cola

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The estate for music icon Johnny Cash has filed a lawsuit against the Coca-Cola Company, accusing the soda giant of pirating his distinctive voice for an advertising campaign.

Cash’s trust believes Coca-Cola commissioned an advertising agency, which hired a Johnny Cash tribute singer to record the vocal track for the ad and trick consumers into believing it was Cash’s actual voice.
