Man Arrested in 2023 Shooting Case in Which Woman Was Wounded in the Face

More than two years after allegedly shooting a woman in the face inside a Nolensville Pike apartment, Daniel Maradiaga-Hernandez, 32, is being held accountable and is now in the Metro Jail on a charge of attempted murder.

The victim, who was age 39 when she was shot in the face and jaw inside her apartment in the early morning hours of June 9, 2023, told detectives that Maradiaga-Hernandez shot her at point-blank range after she asked him to leave. Once Detective Abigail Malone, who is assigned to the Non-Lethal Shooting Section of the Specialized Investigations Division, confirmed Maradiaga-Hernandez was the suspect, she learned from social media that he had fled to Miami, Florida. Efforts to locate and apprehend him there by Florida authorities were unsuccessful.

Detective Malone didn’t give up in her efforts to find Maradiaga-Hernandez and recently saw social media information that he had returned to the Nashville area from Miami. She passed along information about him to TITANS Unit detectives, who located him Tuesday evening in a grocery store parking lot off Dickerson Pike and took him into custody. Maradiaga-Hernandez was carrying a Glock .380 pistol. A gun of that caliber was used to shoot the victim in the 2023 case…
