Tip from News 2 viewer leads Berry Hill police to suspect in smoker theft

BERRY HILL, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities are one step closer to recovering a $9,000 smoker stolen from a Berry Hill company in late October thanks to a viewer who watched News 2’s previous coverage on the theft.

According to the Berry Hill Police Department, the suspects cut through a heavy chain, opened up the gate, and drove an old white Chevrolet work van, as well as a red or maroon Toyota Corolla, right to the smoker, which was used by the company for various functions. Surveillance video shows the men quickly hooking up to the expensive smoker and driving away less than three minutes later.
