Tennessee Department of Health reports increase in severe histoplasmosis cases in Williamson, Maury counties

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Tennessee Department of Health issued a Health Alert Network Advisory after identifying at least 18 cases of a fungal infection — called Histoplasmosis — in Spring Hill and Thompson’s Station.

The reported increase in severe histoplasmosis cases in Williamson and Maury County residents started in September 2025.
