Enter smart signals: It’s been 60 years since Nashville upgraded its traffic lights

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Fox 17 is taking a closer look at the state-of-the-art technology that debuted this week along Lebanon Pike- smart traffic signals that adjust in real time to congestion.

It’s the Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell’s latest Choose How You Move initiative upgrade, approved by 66% of Metro voters last year. Thirty-six traffic lights have now been installed along the corridor.
