Nashville Teens Arrested, Charged in Connection with Althrop Way Carjacking Incident

Two teenagers have been arrested following a reported carjacking incident in Nashville, which occurred last Thursday evening. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the crime took place in the 7200 block of Althrop Way when a woman, who was parking her Toyota sedan, was approached by a masked gunman who demanded her keys. The victim complied, and her vehicle was soon stolen.

Police later found the car abandoned on Zermatt Avenue where, after tracking two individuals with a helicopter, officers detained both Jabari Thomas and an unnamed 17-year-old at a nearby apartment, found evidence was discovered in the apartment that linked them to the crime but due to legal considerations the juvenile court handles the process differently for minors. Items recovered from the location included a nine-millimeter pistol, ski mask, gloves, and the keys to the carjacked vehicle, suggesting clear possession and involvement in the incident…
