Mother charged with vehicular homicide of her son after suspected alcohol-related crash

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A woman was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon that killed her 11-year-old son, Metro Nashville Police officers said.

The crash happened about 3:30 p.m. on Old Hickory Blvd. Authorities said Elizabeth Sanchez, 49, was driving a GMC Yukon eastbound when she failed to negotiate a slight curve, left the roadway and crashed through a wooden fence.
