Nashville hospital announces the birth of its first Christmas baby of 2025

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A Nashville hospital has welcomed its first birth of Christmas Day.

Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown said Thursday that mother Marlin Sosa gave birth to a baby boy with a head full of dark hair at 2:46 a.m. on December 25. The newborn weighs 7 pounds, 11 ounces and measured at 20 inches.

“The family is doing well and joyfully celebrating the arrival of their little one on Christmas Day,” the hospital said. “…The family is thrilled to welcome their son into the world, and Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown is honored to be part of this special gift for the family at Christmas.”

The Christmas celebration came a day after the Grinch paid a special visit to the hospital’s NICU. The hospital said the Grinch offered “heartfelt interactions, and a reminder of the compassion and comfort our NICU team provides year-round to our smallest fighters.”…
