NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Marginal Risk (level 1/5) has been issued for most of Middle Tennessee and all of Southern Kentucky from Sunday until 6 A.M. Monday. A strong cold front will push across the mid-state, bringing temperatures from the 70s to the 30s.
The latest models show storms not firing up until after midnight. The main line of storms will come through early Monday morning. This means rain is likely for the Monday morning commute.
The biggest storm threats will be damaging winds and some severe storms. Heavy rainfall could be widespread and a spin-up tornado is possible with strong wind gusts.
Rainfall totals vary from a quarter of an inch to half an inch. The heaviest rain will be overnight but still expect wet roadways for Monday morning. Some localized flooding is possible.
The biggest change after the cold front comes through is the highs on Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures will fall from highs in the 70s on Sunday to highs in the 30s on Monday. Overnight lows will be in the teens and 20s.
