WeGo Transit introduces longer hours and more frequent buses for new year

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Nashville riders will have more ways to get around starting Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026, as WeGo Public Transit rolls out expanded service, longer hours, and more frequent buses.

The updates, approved by the Nashville MTA Board in October, reflect feedback from riders and the community and are supported by Mayor Freddie O’Connell’s Choose How You Move program.

Expanded Service Hours

  • 3 West End: 5:15 a.m. – 1:15 a.m. Sundays
  • 4 Shelby: 5:15 a.m. – 1:15 a.m. Sundays
  • 6 Lebanon Pike: until 12:15 a.m. weekdays & Saturdays
  • 7 Hillsboro Pike: 5:15 a.m. – 1:15 a.m. Sundays
  • 8 8th Avenue South: service begins 5:15 a.m. Sundays
  • 14 Whites Creek: 5:15 a.m. – 12:15 a.m. Sundays
  • 18 Airport: service begins 5:15 a.m. Sundays
  • 19 Herman: service begins 5:15 a.m. Sundays
  • 22 Bordeaux: 5:15 a.m. – 1:15 a.m. Sundays
  • 23 Dickerson Pike: 5:15 a.m. – 1:15 a.m. Sundays
  • 34 Opry Mills: until 11:15 p.m. weekdays & weekends
  • 41 Golden Valley: until 10:15 p.m. weekdays; new hourly service 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. weekends
  • 50 Charlotte Pike: 5:15 a.m. – 1:15 a.m. Sundays
  • 52 Nolensville Pike: 5:15 a.m. – 1:15 a.m. Sundays
  • 55 Murfreesboro Pike: 5:15 a.m. – 1:15 a.m. Sundays
  • 56 Gallatin Pike: 5:15 a.m. – 1:15 a.m. Sundays
  • 79 Skyline: new 45-minute service, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Sundays
  • Access: matches weekday fixed-route hours on Sundays

Frequency Improvements

  • 3 West End: 15 → 10 min (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.) weekdays; 20 → 15 min (6:15 p.m. – 10:15 p.m.) weekdays; 20 → 15 min (6 a.m. – 6 p.m.) weekends
  • 7 Hillsboro Pike: 30 → 20 min (6:15 p.m. – 10:15 p.m.) weekdays; 30 → 20 min (6 a.m. – 6 p.m.) weekends
  • 34 Opry Mills: 60 → 40 min (6 a.m. – 11 p.m.) weekends
  • 52 Nolensville Pike: 15 → 10 min (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.) weekdays; 20 → 15 min (6:15 p.m. – 10:15 p.m.) weekdays; 20 → 15 min (6 a.m. – 6 p.m.) weekends
